Opening Race Of The 2007 Season

The GU made its debut at the Harvey Short Course. The boys were happy to put the foot flat and see how the GU went.

And it went!! With a few tweaks to be made, the power of the V8 and the short wheel base make for an exciting ride and an even more exciting viewing experience.

First Race 2006 - Harvey Short Course

Take off! The tacho is steady at 5500 rpm, 4WD engaged. With both driver and navigator primed they are off to a flying start!
With a launch like this you can see why Matt gets off the line so quickly.

As this was the first race Matt and the GQ have had together, the day had a few interesting moments.
Matt, entertaining the crowd early on by putting the GQ on two wheels on the final corner, soon settled into a steady rhythm driving the car hard. A highlight video of the day can be seen by clicking on the image to the left.

With a 13th place overall, a 4th place in class and a few tweaks planned, the Boys are certain to pick up the pace next round.

Be sure to follow the progress of car 899 at the Mogumber 240 on the 12 - 13th of August 2006

Matt v's Mogumber

Mixed emotions were felt after the weekends action at Mogumber. With a 3rd place in class, the tweaks the boys hade made before the weekend dramatically improved the handling of the GQ.

With improved handling, takeoff and braking, the GQ was a different car to drive from the last race. Matt is now focusing on his flying skills after tickling a tree whilst airborne!

It's now back to the shop for a bit of panel beating and to ready the GQ for the next round.

Hyden

Hyden Humps

With a few races under their belt, the boys now have a grip on things. Hyden gave the boys the opportunity to test a new setup and boy, did it work.

Follow the link on the left to see the "Jump Of The Weekend", a spine jarring launch that left the boys with a flat left hand front tyre and a smile that lasted for days. Enjoy!
